Baileys Espresso Martini: The Ultimate Recipe & Guide

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A decadent and creamy Baileys Espresso Martini, perfect for after-dinner drinks or special occasions. Combines vodka, fresh espresso, Baileys Irish Cream, and coffee liqueur for a delicious and sophisticated cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 oz Vodka (high-quality recommended)
  • 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso (cooled slightly)
  • 1 oz Baileys Irish Cream
  • 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur (Kahlúa or Tia Maria)
  • Ice (lots of it)
  • 3 Coffee Beans (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brew Your Espresso: Brew fresh espresso and let it cool slightly (15-20 minutes).
  2. Chill Your Martini Glass: Chill a martini glass in the freezer or with ice water (empty and dry before using).
  3. Prepare Shaker: Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
  4. Add Ingredients: Pour vodka, cooled espresso, Baileys Irish Cream, and coffee liqueur into the shaker.
  5. Shake Vigorously: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  6. Double Strain (Optional): Place a Hawthorne strainer on the shaker and a fine-mesh strainer over the chilled martini glass. Pour the martini through both strainers into the glass.
  7. Garnish: Garnish with three coffee beans.

Notes

  • Use freshly brewed espresso for the best flavor.
  • Cool the espresso before adding it to the shaker to prevent excessive ice melting.
  • Shake vigorously to create a frothy top.
  • Double straining is optional but recommended for a smoother martini.
  • Experiment with different vodkas and adjust sweetness to taste.
  • For a mocktail, substitute vodka with a non-alcoholic spirit and use decaffeinated espresso.
  • Consider infusing vodka with coffee or vanilla beans for added flavor.
  • Rim the glass with cocoa powder or ground coffee for a festive touch.
  • Get creative with garnishes like chocolate shavings or biscotti.
