Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 oz Vodka (high-quality recommended)
- 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso (cooled slightly)
- 1 oz Baileys Irish Cream
- 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur (Kahlúa or Tia Maria)
- Ice (lots of it)
- 3 Coffee Beans (for garnish)
Instructions
- Brew Your Espresso: Brew fresh espresso and let it cool slightly (15-20 minutes).
- Chill Your Martini Glass: Chill a martini glass in the freezer or with ice water (empty and dry before using).
- Prepare Shaker: Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
- Add Ingredients: Pour vodka, cooled espresso, Baileys Irish Cream, and coffee liqueur into the shaker.
- Shake Vigorously: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
- Double Strain (Optional): Place a Hawthorne strainer on the shaker and a fine-mesh strainer over the chilled martini glass. Pour the martini through both strainers into the glass.
- Garnish: Garnish with three coffee beans.
Notes
- Use freshly brewed espresso for the best flavor.
- Cool the espresso before adding it to the shaker to prevent excessive ice melting.
- Shake vigorously to create a frothy top.
- Double straining is optional but recommended for a smoother martini.
- Experiment with different vodkas and adjust sweetness to taste.
- For a mocktail, substitute vodka with a non-alcoholic spirit and use decaffeinated espresso.
- Consider infusing vodka with coffee or vanilla beans for added flavor.
- Rim the glass with cocoa powder or ground coffee for a festive touch.
- Get creative with garnishes like chocolate shavings or biscotti.
