Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup 2% milk (or whole milk for extra richness)
- 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup (homemade or store-bought)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces cold brew concentrate (or strong brewed coffee, cooled)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is completely dissolved.
- Bring to a gentle simmer for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine heavy cream, milk, and vanilla syrup.
- Froth the cream using an electric milk frother, handheld milk frother, immersion blender (pulse carefully), or whisk vigorously until thickened and foamy.
- Check the consistency: It should be thick enough to hold its shape slightly but still pourable. Adjust with more heavy cream or milk as needed.
- (Optional) Chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes for best results.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes.
- Pour cold brew concentrate (or strong brewed coffee) over the ice.
- (Optional) Add a splash of vanilla syrup or simple syrup to sweeten.
- Gently pour the vanilla sweet cream over the cold brew.
- Enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust Sweetness: Adjust the amount of vanilla syrup to your preference.
- Dairy-Free Option: Use coconut cream or almond milk creamer instead of heavy cream, almond milk or oat milk instead of 2% milk, and a dairy-free vanilla syrup.
- Other Flavors: Try caramel, hazelnut, or peppermint syrup. Add cocoa powder or cinnamon.
- Frappuccino: Blend cold brew, ice, vanilla syrup, and vanilla ice cream/frozen yogurt. Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.
- Stronger Coffee: Use a higher concentration of cold brew or add a shot of espresso.
- Whipped Cream Topping: Top with whipped cream for extra indulgence.
- Storage: Sweet cream is best fresh, but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Cold brew can be stored for up to 1 week.
- Sweet Cream Not Thickening: Ensure heavy cream is very cold. Add a pinch of xanthan gum.
- Sweet Cream Too Thick: Add a splash of milk.
- Cold Brew Too Bitter: Use different coffee beans, brew for less time, or add a pinch of salt.
