- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional, but highly recommended!)
- Pinch of salt
- 4 ounces (1/2 cup) mascarpone cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled slightly
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy), steamed or frothed
- Optional: Whipped cream, for topping
- Optional: Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings, for dusting
Instructions
- Make the Tiramisu Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, and cocoa powder. Whisk until cocoa is mostly dissolved.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, almond extract (if using), and salt.
- Cool completely. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Prepare the Mascarpone Cream: Ensure mascarpone cheese is softened.
- In a small bowl, combine softened mascarpone, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Whip until smooth and creamy, being careful not to overwhip.
- Set aside.
- Assemble the Tiramisu Latte: Brew espresso or strong coffee and let it cool slightly.
- Add 2-3 tablespoons of Tiramisu syrup to the coffee, adjusting to taste.
- Steam or froth milk.
- Gently pour steamed milk over the coffee, leaving space at the top.
- Carefully spoon mascarpone cream on top of the milk.
- Garnish with whipped cream, cocoa powder, or chocolate shavings, if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
