Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers (any color)
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly flour your countertop or a large cutting board.
  3. Roll the pizza dough into a rectangle about 12 inches by 16 inches, aiming for an even thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the rolled-out dough, leaving about an inch border around the edges.
  5. Spread shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  6. Add sliced pepperoni and crumbled Italian sausage.
  7. Layer sliced bell peppers and black olives (if using).
  8. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning on top.
  9. Starting from one of the long edges, roll the dough tightly, pinching the seams to seal the Stromboli.
  10. Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  11. Make a few diagonal slits on the top of the Stromboli to allow steam to escape.
  12. Brush the top of the Stromboli with the beaten egg.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  14. Ensure it’s fully cooked by checking that the crust is golden and the cheese is melted (internal temperature should be at least 190°F or 88°C).
  15. Let the Stromboli cool for about 5-10 minutes.
  16. Slice into 1-inch thick pieces and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
  17. Gather your friends or family and enjoy this delicious homemade Stromboli!

Notes
