Ingredients
Scale
- 2 oz gin
- 1 oz elderflower liqueur
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz rose syrup
- 2 oz soda water
- Ice cubes
- Fresh rose petals (for garnish)
- 1 lemon wheel (for garnish)
Instructions
- Gather Your Tools: Ensure you have a cocktail shaker, jigger, strainer, and a glass (preferably a highball glass) ready for mixing.
- Measure the Ingredients: Using a jigger, measure 2 oz of gin and pour it into the cocktail shaker. Add 1 oz of elderflower liqueur.
- Add Fresh Lemon Juice: Squeeze fresh lemons to obtain 1 oz of lemon juice and add it to the shaker with the gin and elderflower liqueur.
- Incorporate the Rose Syrup: Add 1 oz of rose syrup to the shaker. If you dont have rose syrup, you can make your own by simmering equal parts sugar and water with dried rose petals until fragrant.
- Shake It Up: Fill the shaker with ice cubes, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.
- Strain the Mixture: Remove the lid and use a strainer to pour the mixture into your prepared glass filled with ice.
- Add Soda Water: Top off the cocktail with 2 oz of soda water and give it a gentle stir to combine.
- Fresh Rose Petals: Place a few fresh, edible rose petals on top of the cocktail for a beautiful presentation and enhanced aroma.
- Lemon Wheel: Add a lemon wheel to the rim of the glass for a pop of color and citrus aroma.
- Final Touches: Optionally, add a sprig of mint for a refreshing aroma and a splash of green.
- Chill Your Glass: If possible, chill your glass in the freezer for a few minutes before serving to keep the cocktail colder for longer.
- Pair with Snacks: This cocktail pairs well with light appetizers like cucumber sandwiches, cheese platters, or fresh fruit salad.
Notes
- Ensure that the rose petals used for garnish are edible and free from chemicals.
- For a sweeter cocktail, adjust the amount of rose syrup to taste.
