  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 140 minutes
  • Yield: 6 cups 1x

Description

This refreshing Rose Lemonade blends fresh lemon juice with floral rose water, creating a delightful drink perfect for warm days or special occasions. Garnished with mint leaves and lemon slices, it’s a beautiful and delicious way to stay cool!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups water (divided)
  • 1/2 cup rose water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Thin lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Edible rose petals (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by juicing the lemons. Roll them on the countertop with your palm to soften, then cut in half and extract the juice using a citrus juicer or fork. Strain to remove seeds and pulp, yielding about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves (3-5 minutes). This creates a simple syrup.
  3. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup with the fresh lemon juice. Stir well.
  5. Add the remaining 3 cups of water, adjusting to your taste preference for lemon intensity.
  6. Pour in the rose water and stir gently. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  7. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to chill and meld flavors. Alternatively, add ice cubes directly to the pitcher for quicker chilling, but be aware of potential dilution.
  8. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled rose lemonade over the ice.
  9. Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves, a thin lemon slice, and optional edible rose petals for a beautiful presentation.
  10. Stir gently before serving to mix flavors, and consider adding a sprig of mint to the pitcher for elegance.
  11. Store any leftover lemonade in a sealed container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Stir before serving as ingredients may settle.
  12. Freeze leftover lemonade in ice cube trays for future use without diluting flavor.
  13. For a fruity twist, muddle fresh berries (like strawberries or raspberries) at the bottom of the glass before adding lemonade.
  14. For a sparkling version, replace some water with sparkling water or club soda for a refreshing fizz.
