- 500 g ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 package puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Prepare the pastry by rolling it out on a floured surface.
- Line a pie dish with half of the pastry.
- In a skillet, cook the meat until browned.
- Add onions, garlic, and spices to the meat and cook until softened.
- Pour the meat mixture into the lined pie dish.
- Cover with the remaining pastry and seal the edges.
- Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
