  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Prepare the pastry by rolling it out on a floured surface.
  3. Line a pie dish with half of the pastry.
  4. In a skillet, cook the meat until browned.
  5. Add onions, garlic, and spices to the meat and cook until softened.
  6. Pour the meat mixture into the lined pie dish.
  7. Cover with the remaining pastry and seal the edges.
  8. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Let the pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
