- ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth. Add milk if needed for consistency.
- Spoon about 1 tablespoon of muffin batter into each muffin cup, filling them about one-third full.
- Add about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on top of the batter in each muffin cup.
- Spoon another tablespoon of muffin batter over the cream cheese filling in each cup.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the muffins cool in the tin for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Mix together ½ cup powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled muffins.
- Sprinkle extra lemon zest on top if desired.
