Description
Enjoy a refreshing Korean Strawberry Milk, a delightful mix of fresh strawberries and creamy milk. Perfect for warm days, this vibrant drink can be customized to your sweetness preference and is topped with whipped cream and mint for an extra treat!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup milk (whole, almond, or any milk of your choice)
- 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk (optional, for extra creaminess)
- Ice cubes (optional, for serving)
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or impurities.
- Hull the strawberries by removing the green tops using a small knife or a huller.
- Slice the strawberries into quarters or smaller pieces, depending on your preference.
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries with the sugar and toss gently. Let this mixture sit for about 10-15 minutes to draw out the juices, creating a delicious syrup.
- Transfer the macerated strawberries into a small saucepan.
- Over medium heat, cook the strawberries for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. The strawberries should break down and release their juices, creating a syrupy consistency.
- For a smoother syrup, mash the strawberries with a fork or potato masher while they cook.
- Once thickened and the strawberries are soft, remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- In a separate bowl or large glass, pour in the milk. If using sweetened condensed milk, add it now for a rich texture.
- Stir the milk and condensed milk together until well combined. Adjust sweetness as desired.
- For a chilled drink, add a few ice cubes to the milk mixture.
- In a tall glass, add a few spoonfuls of the strawberry syrup at the bottom.
- Pour the milk mixture over the strawberry syrup, creating beautiful layers.
- Optionally, add whole strawberries on top or let some float in the drink.
- Top with whipped cream for extra creaminess.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing aroma.
- Serve immediately while cold and fresh. If ice is added, enjoy right away to keep it chilled.
Notes
- Adjust the sugar and condensed milk to your taste preference.
