Description
Enjoy a refreshing Iced Black Sesame Latte, featuring a creamy blend of nutty black sesame milk and your choice of milk, sweetened to your liking. Perfect for warm days or as a unique coffee alternative, this chilled beverage is both delicious and satisfying.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/4 cup black sesame seeds
- 2 cups water (for blending)
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice)
- 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Toast the black sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently for 3-5 minutes until fragrant and slightly darker. Avoid burning.
- Let the toasted seeds cool for a few minutes to enhance their nutty flavor.
- Transfer the cooled seeds to a blender, add 2 cups of water (or 1.5 cups for creamier texture), and blend on high for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl or pitcher, pressing down on the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Stir in a pinch of salt to the strained black sesame milk.
- In a separate bowl, mix the black sesame milk with 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk (or maple syrup for a vegan option).
- Stir until the sweetener is fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness with honey or more sweetened condensed milk if desired.
- Allow the black sesame milk to cool, refrigerating for about 30 minutes if you prefer it chilled.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the chilled black sesame milk over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
- Gently pour in your choice of milk over the black sesame milk to create a layered effect.
- Drizzle honey or additional sweetened condensed milk on top for extra sweetness and visual appeal.
- Optionally, top with whipped cream for added creaminess.
- Stir gently to combine flavors or leave layered for presentation. Enjoy with a straw or spoon!
Notes
- For the best flavor, use high-quality black sesame seeds and toast them fresh.
