Description
This Honey Garlic Salmon features tender fillets marinated in a sweet and savory mix of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger, then baked to perfection. It’s a quick, flavorful meal ideal for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Whisk until well blended.
- Taste the marinade and adjust seasoning if necessary. Add more honey for sweetness or soy sauce for saltiness.
- Set aside about 1/4 cup of the marinade in a separate bowl for basting later.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the remaining marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well coated. Cover or seal tightly.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, flipping halfway through. For best results, marinate for 1-2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade and place on the baking sheet, skin-side down. Discard the used marinade.
- Brush the reserved marinade over the top of each fillet.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Prepare any side dishes while the salmon bakes.
- Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes after baking.
- Drizzle more reserved marinade over the salmon and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
- Serve with fluffy jasmine rice and steamed vegetables.
- For a fun twist, serve in lettuce wraps with fresh veggies and a drizzle of marinade.
- Enjoy your meal!
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
