  • Author: Maria
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Honey Garlic Salmon features tender fillets marinated in a sweet and savory mix of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger, then baked to perfection. It’s a quick, flavorful meal ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Taste the marinade and adjust seasoning if necessary. Add more honey for sweetness or soy sauce for saltiness.
  3. Set aside about 1/4 cup of the marinade in a separate bowl for basting later.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the remaining marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well coated. Cover or seal tightly.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, flipping halfway through. For best results, marinate for 1-2 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  8. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place on the baking sheet, skin-side down. Discard the used marinade.
  9. Brush the reserved marinade over the top of each fillet.
  10. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  12. Prepare any side dishes while the salmon bakes.
  13. Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes after baking.
  14. Drizzle more reserved marinade over the salmon and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
  15. Serve with fluffy jasmine rice and steamed vegetables.
  16. For a fun twist, serve in lettuce wraps with fresh veggies and a drizzle of marinade.
  17. Enjoy your meal!
  18. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  19. To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
