Description
These crispy, golden mac and cheese balls are a delicious twist on a classic comfort food. Perfect for parties or as a fun snack, they are filled with creamy cheese and fried to perfection!
Ingredients
- mac and cheese mixture
- cooked bacon (optional)
- diced jalapeños (optional)
- favorite dipping sauce (optional)
- oil for frying
- paper towels
Instructions
- Fry the mac and cheese balls in hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan, for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Use a slotted spoon to turn them occasionally for even cooking.
- Once cooked, remove the mac and cheese balls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Repeat the frying process with the remaining balls.
- Serve the mac and cheese balls warm, with your favorite dipping sauce, if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add cooked bacon or diced jalapeños to the mac and cheese mixture before shaping into balls.
- These mac and cheese balls can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying. Just fry them straight from the freezer, adding a minute or two to the cooking time.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese for a unique flavor profile.
