Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of chicken tenders
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 cup of hot sauce (your favorite brand)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chicken tenders under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to create the seasoned flour mixture.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the two large eggs until well beaten.
  4. In a third bowl, add the breadcrumbs. Optionally, mix in more cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  5. Coat each chicken tender in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off excess flour.
  6. Dip the floured chicken tender into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated.
  7. Roll the chicken tender in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat for all tenders.
  8. In a large skillet, heat enough vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  9. Carefully place a few chicken tenders in the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
  10. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken fries and place them on a plate lined with paper towels.
  11. While hot, drizzle the hot sauce over the chicken fries and toss gently to coat.
  12. For a richer flavor, mix the hot sauce with melted butter before drizzling.
  13. Transfer the chicken fries to a serving platter and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  14. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch or blue cheese dressing.
  15. Enjoy your homemade fiery chicken fries!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the chicken tenders in the egg and breadcrumbs.
  • To bake instead of fry, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), place the breaded chicken on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spray lightly with cooking spray, and bake until golden and cooked through.
