Enjoy a refreshing twist on brunch with Creamsicle Mimosas, blending zesty orange juice and smooth vanilla vodka topped with a fluffy cream mixture. Perfect for any festive occasion, these bubbly cocktails are sure to delight your guests!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed is best)
  • 1 cup vanilla-flavored vodka
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) sparkling wine or champagne (brut or extra brut)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Orange slices, for garnish
  • Whipped cream, for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, pour in the heavy cream. Make sure it’s cold for the best results.
  2. Add the powdered sugar to the cream to sweeten it without overpowering the other flavors.
  3. Add the vanilla extract to enhance the vanilla flavor in the drink.
  4. Using a hand mixer or a whisk, beat the mixture until soft peaks form. Be careful not to over-whip; it should be fluffy but still pourable.
  5. Set the cream mixture aside in the refrigerator to keep it chilled.
  6. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed orange juice and the vanilla-flavored vodka.
  7. Stir gently with a spoon to combine the ingredients, avoiding splashes.
  8. Taste the mixture; if you prefer it sweeter, add more powdered sugar or a splash of simple syrup.
  9. Set the pitcher aside or refrigerate if making ahead of time.
  10. Chill your bottle of sparkling wine or champagne in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  11. When ready to serve, carefully open the bottle, being cautious of the cork.
  12. Pour a small amount of sparkling wine into each glass, filling it about one-third of the way.
  13. Gently pour the orange juice and vodka mixture into each glass over the sparkling wine, filling about two-thirds full.
  14. Take the chilled cream mixture from the refrigerator and dollop or pour it on top of the orange juice mixture in each glass.
  15. Optionally, give the drink a gentle stir with a straw or spoon, or leave it layered for presentation.
  16. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top for extra creaminess and visual appeal.
  17. Garnish each glass with a slice of orange on the rim.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the vodka and sparkling wine with sparkling water and additional orange juice.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the cream mixture to your preference by varying the amount of powdered sugar.
