Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup of sliced bananas (about 2 medium bananas)
  • 1 cup of crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup of strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate syrup
  • 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Maraschino cherries for garnish
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the sliced bananas and crushed pineapple.
  4. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. In a medium bowl, pour in the heavy whipping cream. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  8. Beat the cream on medium-high speed until soft peaks form (about 3-5 minutes). Chill in the refrigerator.
  9. Once the cake is cooled, place it on a serving platter and spread a layer of whipped cream over the top.
  10. Add the sliced bananas, strawberries, and crushed pineapple on top of the whipped cream.
  11. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the fruit and sprinkle with chopped walnuts if desired.
  12. Add dollops of whipped cream around the edges and top each with a maraschino cherry.
  13. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  14. Slice and serve, optionally adding extra chocolate syrup or whipped cream on top.

Notes

  • Ensure the cake is completely cooled before adding the toppings to prevent melting.
  • Feel free to customize the fruit toppings based on your preferences or seasonal availability.
